Daylight

In the daylight, I come alive
Rejuvenated from the inside
The light guides me
It doesn’t deny me a warm shoulder or a calming presences
I am accepting of its luminescence
I do not feel threatened or restless

My sentence has been lifted
The clouds have floated away into a different atmosphere
And I hear that it has become attached to another soul
Who will one day feel whole again and will not fall down the sinkhole

But, some days I still feel like a tadpole struggling to find my way
I choose not to walk away
I stay
Unfazed by the blizzard of fear because I know that it will disappear
One day I will see clear and will not fear
