Wings

Your feathers became thin last spring
Yet you still clung to the branches
Everything was changing
The flowers began to bloom, so soon after the harsh winter which left you with a damaged wing
But, you continued to sing from within
Even through the suffering
Seeing the murmurations in the sky
You dream that you would fly
You weathered the rain and knew the pain would fade
There was a shade of hope in the darkness
This made you believe that summer wasn’t that far away and one day you would fly again
