I Will Meet You There

It has been a while since I started to run away
From everything you say
But not today
Someone is waitting for me
Through the tracks of lies and broken ties
It is time to say goodbye

So, I will meet you there
Please don’t stare
It isn’t fair
You chose your path leaving a trail of emptiness behind
Let me remind you that this life isn’t fair
So don’t despair and leave us back there
While you cross broaders and mountains
We wait be the riverside
For you to come back

But, the ice cracks are causing an avalanche of tears
Flooding the foundations where I thought we built a shelter to protect us through the stormy days
Yet, you choose the rain instead of us
Another ghost in the house
Another empty bed
Another episode of empty words that hurt

We are left covered in dirt and have to find a new shirt
You desert back into the mountains
Whilst we try to rebuild the broken bridges
And our hands are left covered in stitches
Whilst you continue to switch position and find a new mission
While we go back in to remission and are left in bad condition
